The Preacher is wondering why a young lady I overheard at a coffee shop this past weekend said with confident belief, "God works in mysterious ways." She was talking to a client. She is a mortgage loan rep. Yes, I was being really nosy. Mysterious Ways is so out of place for business. The white man agreed with me…I am sure. He looked so ready to go! "...God works in mysterious ways." Ain't nothing mysterious about God. If you read His so called inspired word his actions are set forth. Now, if this young lady (black) is speaking of how God has 'worked' in her life - I understand her limited thinking. Once again, humans boxing in God for our liking. Only goes to prove that we speak (ME INCLUDED) in terms of our imaginations about God. We literally make-up what we want to be "mysterious". Or, attribute to God. I wonder if God is responsible for everything? If so, He ain't a pleasant God!

ReplyDeleteMost Christians dismiss me as the "devil". Satan Himself. They take that position because nothing they can say will intellectually refute, solidly dismiss, or brusie my religous position. All they have to stand on is their faith. Faith is not weak...but it is shaky. It is shaky in the hands of humans. Christians can always defend ... See Morethemselves with, "The Word is the Word". I have something for that too. As I have said time and time again, there is no 'quantification' for religion and no foundation for an unexplained spirituality. Ask the spiritual person, What is spirituality? You will get...um.um,um.

ReplyDeleteI love it cause u come at things real and it is a welcomed change from everything else posted here. & Shirley Jean is right it all comes down to a belief system that is right & wrong. & black folks should remember that the "word" was used to keep people in slavery for a very long time. U were a slave because that is what "God" wanted. Where they do that at...and now that very book is the backbone of christianity. Hmmm?

ReplyDeleteThat bible reads as a sadistic play. It is an extremely violent book with all types of atrocities within. Rated RRRRR! Of course, Christians primarily focus on the New Testament. I would too if I were interested in 'getting a pass'. I would too if I could not explain the viciousness of God. The bible was written to generate belief. Written... See More to scare. Written to make the unbelievable believable. No inspired writers wrote it. If it is so inspired why is God a mass murderer in it...? No one will challenge me on this. I have their biblical scripture to support my findings. It is all there in ‘The Good Book’.
We need to bring purification to so much. I say start with burning the bible:
